Disabled Veteran Business Alliance

The Disabled Veterans Business Alliance (DVBA) was formed in 1994 following the establishment of the Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) program by the California legislature in 1989. Through over twenty years of mentoring, networking and advocacy, the Alliance has helped thousands of veterans achieve financial rehabilitation through entrepreneurship.

Construction Millennials of America

In 2008, some “Gen-Y’s” in the construction and engineering industry from the San Francisco Area decided to form a peer group that would facilitate professional growth amongst its members. Since then, this peer group became the Construction Millennials of America (CMA), a diverse nonprofit organization that strives to provide industry “Millennials” with opportunities to develop leadership skills and chances to cultivate relationships with industry peers.

Construction Financial Management Association

The Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) is “The Source & Resource for Construction Financial Excellence” and the only nonprofit organization dedicated to the educational needs of today’s construction financial professionals. Established in 1981, CFMA’s General Members represent all types of contractors—including general contractors and specialty trades.

CityBuild

CityBuild aims to meet the demands of the construction industry by providing comprehensive pre-apprenticeship and construction administration training to San Francisco residents. CityBuild began in 2006 as an effort to coordinate city-wide construction training and employment programs.

100 Entrepreneurs

100 Entrepreneurs Foundation was created to provide seriously wounded service members, veterans and their families with information and ideas for creating their own businesses or exploring civilian jobs after they leave the hospital.

Sentinels of Freedom

Sentinels of Freedom provides 2-4 year, multi-faceted scholarships to severely wounded post 9/11 veterans who pursue higher education after transitioning from the military. The SOF program includes financial support for housing, mentoring for personal, academic and professional success, and employment networking upon completion of a degree.

Local Laborers Union 261

The Northern California District Council of Laborers and its representative negotiating committee is responsible for negotiating industry agreements on behalf of its affiliated local unions in the 46 Northern California Counties and currently has approximately 1,700 signatory employers in Northern California.

Local Carpenters Union 22

The Carpenters Local Union 22 has been representing the interests of the carpentry trades in San Francisco since 1882. They provide job placement, job training, job site protections and a sense of fraternity for local carpenters, joiners, drywallers, framers, modular installers and building inspectors.

Local Operating Engineers Union 3

The largest construction trades local in the United States, Local 3’s jurisdiction covers Northern California, Northern Nevada, Hawaii and Utah. Most of Local 3’s members work as heavy equipment operators and construction workers, but they also represent public employees, such as maintenance workers and police officers.
