Candlestick Point Infrastructure Improvements

San Francisco, CA

The Candlestick Point Infrastructure Improvements project (CP-01) was the first phase for converting 700 undeveloped acres along San Francisco’s waterfront into a vibrant mixed-used community. Residential, retail and office space will be interspersed with areas designed for civic and community uses, as well as recreational open spaces.

Anvil Builders was responsible for the complete infrastructure package of the new development, including 4000 ft of HDPE and RCP storm drain, 1600 ft of HDPE sanitary sewer, 6100 ft of low-pressure water lines, 2900 ft of recycled water lines, and 2500 ft of lighting conduit. Other appurtenances included cathodic protection for the waterlines, mass grading, landscaping and various street improvements.

The Candlestick Park/Hunters Point development is one of the most anticipated and closely watched construction areas in the Bay area. This level of scrutiny, along with a fast-track schedule, made for a project with little room for error. And yet, Anvil not only turned over a successful project to the Owner, but did so on-time, while overcoming a number of challenges during the course of construction.
