San Andreas

Millbrae, CA

Project scope was to provide erosion and landslide improvements along the San Andreas Reservoir both on the Eastern Shore Service Road’s and the Western Access. At the In-going Road location (IGR) where the slope from the access road is eroding at the shoreline, the project consists of a new 475-foot soldier pile retaining wall with tiebacks. The wall included temporary lagging during construction, as well as weep holes, and 8-inches of reinforced concrete at the face of the wall. The embankment will be stabilized with native soil and imported riprap. New culverts and RCP will replace the existing infrastructure, to provide drainage from one side of the road to the newly placed riprap.

Additionally, a portion of this project is to reestablish the slope that has eroded at the Eastern Shore Service Roads. At the bottom of the slope, riprap will be installed to anchor the shorelines toe using a riprap armoring method. Imported engineered fill will be placed to provide an even contour above the riprap anchorage trench. Lastly, Arroyo Willow Stakes will be placed at the Northern most area, ES-3, with Hydroseed placed to restore the entirety of the three disturbed areas.
