Thomas Harmon

Tom Harmon is a Founding Faculty of the University of California, Merced, where he currently serves as Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering and Director of the Sierra Nevada Research Institute. He also serves as Co-Director of the UC Merced Experimental Smart Farm. Previously, he was on the faculty of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UCLA. His research and teaching focuses on measuring, modeling, and sustainable management of soil, groundwater, and surface water. Dr. Harmon received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and both his M.S. and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Stanford University.
