Anvil partnered with PG&E to provide safety upgrades to their natural gas pipeline system throughout the Sacramento Region. The Gas Pipeline Replacement Program (GPRP) was enacted by the California Public Utilities Commission and PG&E to improve critical gas infrastructure and upgrade customer gas services. Anvil’s Project involved replacing outdated and leak prone steel/ plastic pipe with modern new piping. Using updated pipe material and fusion techniques, this new pipe is resistant to corrosion and earth movement. Anvil’s team used Horizontal Drilling and other forms of excavation to install (90,000 LF) 16 miles of 2”/4”6” pipe and almost 1800 services throughout the Sacramento Region. This installation improved PG&E’s overall system reliability, decreased leaks, lowering maintenance, and energy costs.
